Daddy's sweaty hugs

Ahh..nothing like a big hug from Dad right when he gets homes from lacrosse practice. He spends the afternoons waging physical challenges against members of the boys' JV lacrosse team (hasn't lost a foot race yet). By the time he gets home around 5, he's hardly seen the little one all day. Sometimes Mom cringes, but Mia doesn't seem to mind.

Fake Crying

Mia's taken to what Brad calls "fake crying." She's smiling and happy one minute and breaking down the next. We call it fake because she hardly puts any effort into it at all. It's not at all like her all-out temper tantrum scream. She turns it right off when you make a funny face for her. We suppose it's just her way of soliciting entertainment.

Young Blue Eyes

Yes, yes-- we've heard the complaints. What happened to the blog? Don't worry, Grandma Lu relayed the message, and we're on it. But, once again- we find ourselves trying to make up for lost blogging. At least Mia's ready for her close-up, so we're all set. Action!

Push-Ups

Mia's Tummy Time skills are improving greatly. She now spends a minute or two (of the ten) propping herself up to take a look a around. And then, she unravels into her typical Tummy Time scream. But hey, we're making progress!

Chicken Little

Mia is becoming more and more interested in toys. She has started using the play tray on her Bumbo chair and makes sure not to leave the house for a walk without one of her brightly-colored gadgets. This afternoon is was a "Barn Baby" teether toy that captured her interest and gave Mom a little time to check email.

Lashes

This photo doesn't really do them justice. Mia definitely inherited her father's eye lashes and they're starting to really fill in now.

Bi-ped anyone?

Look Mom, I'm a bi-ped after all! With a little help, Mia enjoys a walk up Dad's tummy. Other favorite activities include "blasting off," jumping, and "flying like Superman."

Drool Fest 2008

Didn't get the memo? Drool Fest 2008 is the place to be. Only the most experienced droolers are performing this year. And, due to the rising infant population, the popular event has been moved to the Berkshire School campus. While Mia's buddy Fitz (who is currently teething) is the main act, Mia will be opening the show. Hope you remembered your bib.

Mirror, mirror

Whoa! It's four times as big as the one in my old gym. As you can see, Mia has taken to her new workout facility quite nicely. A "jittering" elphant, giraffe rattle, singing flowers...what could be better? Maybe we should have just invested in a new mirror for the munchkin.

Working Out

Mia's been working out in her gym every morning. In fact, she loves it so much that Mom just ordered a new one twice its size- an all-out infant activity center. Mia especially loves the "rings." What's next Mia, the uneven bars?
