3 teeth in 5 days! Mom finally took things into her own hands to get a photo of the bottoms ones.

Check out this ride
Yes-- we know you've been aniticipating this for some time now. Mia "test drove" the hockey high chair this evening. By all accounts she seemed to enjoy the ride.
Mama- if blue and orange are complementary colors, this squash must go well with my eyes!
PS-- I have another tooth now! That makes two on the bottom.

I LOVERMONT!
This weekend included a side trip to see Aunt Karen and Uncle Nate's new house in Montpelier. The weather was perfect for a stroll around town. We had to visit Aunt Karen's favorite shops for spoiling Mia.
Yea! Zutano! I've heard so much about this place, but who knew the ceiling would be covered with balloons?! It doesn't get much better than this? Mom- did you bring the credit cards?
Auntie Karen was so brave. She even fed me squash at the restaurant!

Paw holding
Oh Lina, can I hold your paw?
Mia is becoming more and more interested in her doggie sisters. We're working with both dogs and baby to be gentle with each other. Lina tends to go overboard with the kisses and Mia is a bit heavy-handed with the pats and ear grabs.

Check-up time
Mia made the rounds today and visited her pediatrician for a check-up. She tipped the scales at 14 lbs., 4 oz. and was 25 inches long. Little did we know, she was also hiding a tooth in her little mouth. Hopefully we'll catch it in a photo soon! After another batch of shots :( and a trip to get some Earth's Best organic baby food at the supermarket :) we headed up to New Hampshire to catch up with Dad for some relaxation at the cabin.
Yep- you heard that right--baby food. Mia had her first taste of the good stuff this weekend. Squash, to be exact. YUM.

More paper napkins!
Aunt Lizzie, I told you these things are great! They are even complimentary with any plane ticket!

So many paper napkins, so little time. Just thinking about it is enough to tire little Hammia out.

More crazy Buckeye State stuff:
Though the trip may have been brief, Mia made time to grab a bite with Grandma and Grandpa Hammie at Cap City Diner, one of culinary entrepenuer, Cameron Mitchell's, many establishments. You New Englanders better look out, he's even opened a place in Stamford, CT. What is a crazy Buckeye doing opening a restaurant called "The Fishmarket" on the east coast? Oh well...as Andrew Zimmerman says on the Food Network: "If it tastes good, eat it." (Which doesn't make sense at all to Mia's mom, because if you're tasting something, aren't you already eating it?)
Grandma, you don't have to convince me of the family resemblance! Just don't get too close to my bangs with a pair of scissors, I've heard you have a tendancy to take them up a bit high.
The Honorable Grandpa Hammie, aka "Hambone," officially crowned Mia "HamMia." We just couldn't let her go on with out a nickname any longer. Mia didn't seem to sure about the whole escapade.

Mia's wings
We made a quick trip out to Ohio-- a place the natives claim is the "Birthplace of Aviation." A bit of a stretch considering the Wright brothers were only born in Ohio. Read on for Wikipedia's explanation of why any of this matters to Central Ohioans anyways.
THE OHIO/NORTH CAROLINA CONTROVERSY:
The U.S. states of Ohio and North Carolina both take credit for the Wright brothers and their world-changing inventions — Ohio because the brothers developed and built their design in Dayton, and North Carolina because Kitty Hawk was the site of the first flight. With a spirit of friendly rivalry, Ohio adopted the slogan "Birthplace of Aviation" (later "Birthplace of Aviation Pioneers", recognizing not only the Wrights, but also John Glenn and Neil Armstrong, both Ohio natives), while North Carolina has adopted the slogan "First In Flight".
Each state features these phrases on their standard-issue state automobile license plates, and both states also included an image of a Wright Flyer on their respective 50 state quarters designs.[72][73]
The site of the first flights in North Carolina is preserved as Wright Brothers National Memorial, while their Ohio facilities are part of Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. As the positions of both states can be factually defended, and each played a significant role in the history of flight, neither state truly has an exclusive claim to the Wrights' accomplishment. While speaking at a presentation at the National Museum of the United States Air Force in Dayton, Neil Armstrong joked that there is enough credit for both states: North Carolina provided the right winds and soft landing material and Dayton provided the know-how, resources and engineering.

So, what does Mia think? She'll give you her best O-H---I-O chant as she proudly touches down in the one and only Columbus, Ohio. Mia earned her wings in a major way this week. She handled 4 flights in 2 days way better than her mom.

Q & A with the copilot:
Q: "Mia, What was the best part about flying this week?"
A: "I got to play with some really nice paper cocktail napkins. They were far more interesting than any of those "baby" toys mom brought along."
Q: "Why didn't you go to North Carolina?"
A: "Wouldn't that take another layover?"

My pool float...
may not be the cute rubber ducky style, but Dad was assured that it is the safest. The water is warm at Aunt Cathy's! Come on over!

Norwalk Children's Museum
We took some time out as a family to visit the Norwalk Children's Museum in Norwalk, CT today. Mia was especially impressed with the huge water station and the "Toddler Terrain" area. She also made her very first television appearance. We hoped that the bubbles exhibit would peak her interest, but by the time the weather cleared enough for bubble making outside, she had already fallen head-over-heels in love with a bunny puppet in the over-priced gift shop. Don't worry, she successfully suckered us into buying it for her. Here are some photos from the day:
