Crib fun

According to "The No Cry Sleep Solution" book, it's important to spend some fun time with your baby in her crib. So, Mom sneeks in a few minutes of giggles here and there each day. We lucked out with this photo--here is the truest Mia smile we've captured yet:

Speaking of details

People are going crazy for Mia's eyelashes. Though Brad will never admit it, Mia definitely takes after him in this category.

Bells and whistles

Mia's new exersaucer may have every bell and whistle you can imagine, but sometimes it's the smallest details that matter most. Why is it that babies love tags so much? Ah...maybe she's just working on her foreign language skills.

Shall we dance?

One night the we all got into the Baby Bjorn antics. Thanks, Grammy Lu, for catching the action!

Sacked out

As you can see, Brad's Baby Bjorn calming skills are now top-notch. She's out cold after a long afternoon of play.

My very own...

Exersaucer! Grammy Lu just couldn't help herself. Now Mia (and all subsequent grand babies) will have a great toy to play with at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Is that an ipod on the left?

Bjorn and Beer

Brad's been suiting up in the Baby Bjorn (bee-yorn) every evening during the witching hour in an effort to help calm down Munchie Bear. She loves her time with Daddy. Let's just hope she doesn't love that thing he's slipping into her hot little palm.

Aww, Gram!

Mia is racking up the Grammy Lu hours this week. The two took a break from the action to pose for Mom.

Yum Yum on the Gum Gums

Mia is in teether-toy heaven with this chill-able teething ring. Knaw, drool, knaw, drool. Repeat as needed.

Feel the breeze in your toes

Mia's feet are on the dashboard. She's ready for summer break and a cross-country...err cross-campus adventure. Her legs are just the right length to reach what will be a handle bar one day. It's funny to watch her lounge around campus in this position. Pretty soon she'll have us feeding her grapes, too.

Peek-a-boo?

The hairy frog isn't the only changing table entertainment. Lately he seems to be taking the back seat to the big pink flower that Mia only recently realized she could reach. Mia seems to automatically grab at the flower, pulling it towards her every time she sees it. Peek-a-boo anyone?

Puppy Love

Aww. Mia loves her Lina Dog almost as much as Lina loves her. Little Mia would be quickly covered with puppy kisses if Mom and Dad looked the other way. Bare piggies dangling from the stroller or jumperoo are always fair game for a few licks.

How about those

Yankees! They're doing better now, right? Either way...Mia is still proud to wear her pinstripes.

Guitar practice

An evening serenade......is the perfect pre-bedtime soother.

Bottle crazy

Mia's focused on impressing Dad this week. One day devoted to her daddy just wasn't enough. So, she's pulling out all the stops. Just a few days ago Dad was saying he couldn't wait to see Mia hold her own bottle.

First Father's Day

We spent Brad's first Dad's Day with Grandma Lu and Grandpa Dom. After a lovely lunch out we headed back to the apartment to catch some of the US Open. What began as standing practice quickly turned into "golfing" with Dad. What could be better than a little father-daughter outing on Daddy's big day?

"Here we go, sweetie. Feet shoulder-width apart, hands together."

After all the play last weekend, it seems only fit to call this week the week of naps. While Mom and Dad have been struggling to get Mia on to a sound sleeping schedule, she's been enjoying any daytime shut eye she can get.

Here is another little something from the Toys r' Us trip. Mom couldn't resist these traditional stacking and nesting alphabet blocks. Mia seems to feel the same way about knocking down towers of them.

Wrist rattles

Aunt Lizzie and Uncle Scott came down to Greenwich over the weekend. They brought Mia some little wrist rattles that she can wear as bracelets. The spoiling continues...

short?

Jumperoo!

We're down at Grandma Lu and Grandpa Dom's house. There have been a lot of hugs and kisses...and...a trip to Toys R' Us for some spoiling. Mia will take a new "Jumperoo" back to school this week. Mom's been looking forward to something like a "Johnny Jump-Up" for a long time, but only recently found out that those traditional door way jumpy seats won't fit the door frames in the new apartment. Here is the next best thing (many would argue it's even better!).

Unfortunately, after a lot of anticipation and some frenzied assembling we realized...
This pint-sized package can't even reach the ground! We're sure she'll grow into it soon.

Sitting Practice

Mia is getting stronger by the day. With a little help she can even sit up for short (think a few seconds) periods of time before collapsing nose first into the carpet. Yesterday morning she worked on this new skill in the nursery.

Fun with Froggy 2

Mia still loves to see her hairy frog on the changing table. The only thing that has changed since Froggy's last blog entry is that Mia now regularly tries to consume him.

Bands Aids and Tylenol

The only evidence of yesterday's doctor's appointment is a couple of band aids and a little fever. Mia has been a real trooper, but even she isn't without a little crankiness.

Four Months

Mia is about four months old now. Where has the time gone? Today's big activity was a check-up with the pediatrician. Our little peanut tipped the scales at a mere 11 lbs. 12 oz. She's grown plenty-moving right along her little (literally) curve. Here she is sitting on the baby scale. There were shots, too--but we could hardly look ourselves, so there are no photos of that.

Exersaucer

Well, looks like Mom and Dad will soon be investing in one of these crazy contraptions. Mia tried out an exersaucer while attending Mom's department meeting at a fellow faculty member's house today. Who wouldn't be entertained (if not overwhelmed) by something like this?

More strap hanging practice

We're back home from Colgate now and Mia is back to strap hanging practice. This time, she's added the element of movement. While swinging she now enjoys reaching up to hold on to the toys above her. "When can we go to the city, Dad?"

Go 'gate

Mia paid her respects to a giant "C" in the athletic center following Mom and Dad's class banquet last night.Then she was off to her first (and last, according to Dad) fraternity party.
